As many have I also recreated the Beatles cover

Bistrita, Romania

The street is a one way road behind the city centre starting from a famous hotel in the city “Coroana de Aur” (right side of the street) and a coffee shop, Duca Coffee Roasters (on the left side of the street)

Initial Location: Second crossing road

Final Location: First crossing road

Below is a picture from Google Earth (October 2024) of each crossing road and the distance between the two

What Happened 1st Day

A cousin of my dad is the owner of a specialty coffee shop in Bistrita, Duca Coffee Roasters. I spoke to one of his employees, who is also a friend of mine. I asked her if the Duca Coffee team would like to be a part of this project, she loved the idea and told me to stop by whenever to discuss with the team. I went on a Tuesday, November 11 at around 13:30, I ordered a coffee and told the team about the project, they didn’t hesitate to be my models. The only problem was that I only had 3 people and I needed 4, the 4th person would have been Beni, who is the owner but he was busy, then rush hour hit and it would have been impossible to shoot crossing the road since cars were passing from two streets onto the one way street. Luckily the next few days showed no signs of rain.

What Happened 2nd Day

The next day at 13:00 I went back hopeful that today will be the day. At 14:20 we did a practice run outside, before crossing. They organised themselves from oldest to youngest (not intentional but happy that they were in order, from right to left), boy-girl-boy-girl. I initially wanted to shoot at the second sidewalk but one of the employees suggested shooting at the first one so that the church would be in the background. Because I was taking the picture farther away I was in the middle of the road, luckily they quickly got into place, and the 4 cars on the right side of the street waited patiently. I wanted to integrate the coffee shop, so I gave each one of them an empty to go cup to hold, I now realise after researching about Abbey Road, that they were crossing the street away from the coffee shop with a memory in hand from where they once were (similarly to Abbey Road, I feel that each Beatle band member had a nostalgic memory in heart when crossing the street, even though they didn’t know it at the time, it was their last album cover recorded together)
