I edited the picture in the iPhone photo app, I made the colours more saturated to give embrace the 60s vibe, of intense, powerful but also warm feel that the 60s had to offer. Although it is a modern recreation it feels nostalgic. I didn’t want a specific dress code, everyone follows different fashion rules and expresses themselves differently, I didn’t want to take away from each person's individuality. It so happened that my friend, the last one on the left wore denim jeans that day (just like George), the man on the right of my friend was the only one not wearing a jacket, which was a bit concerning since it was very cold that day (similarly to Paul, he was the odd one out of the group), the women on the right of the Man A is the wife of Beni, which had a white jacket on, and then Beni the considered leader of the group wore all black. Since it is a postmodern text I will let you the audience create a meaning for the picture, remember there is no right or wrong answer (especially in the 21st Century).

This edit uses depth-of-field simulation through digital manipulation. By blurring the background and layering focused cut-out figures on top. This directs the viewers attention to the human subjects, reinforces visual hierarchy, and adds a stylised quality to the scene.

Although the mis-en-scene differs, the main concept remains the same: four individuals crossing in unison. I positioned the original Abbey Road image upside down at the bottom of the frame to symbolise the past, while my present day recreation is upright to represent modernity. The alignment of the Beatles feet with those of the figures above suggests that the present is metaphorically stepping into the past, following the same cultural footsteps but reinterpreting them in a contemporary and conventional way.
